Help fund grassroots organizing in swing states to win in 2026
PRESENTED BY THE WASHINGTON HUB OF MOVEMENT VOTER PROJECT
What's This All About
On May 16th, a group of feisty, fun-loving resisters from Seattle, Olympia, and greater Western Washington are hosting a Dance for Democracy to benefit Movement Voter Project (MVP). We're raising early money so grassroots groups in key states can organize now — building the voter power needed to flip the House and Senate in November 2026. In 2022, Democrats lost the House by just 6,675 votes across five districts. In 2024, by just 7,309 votes across three. This time, we organize early — and we win.
MVP operates like a "mutual fund" for political giving — raising money from donors and channeling it to the most impactful grassroots groups around the country. Unlike candidate campaigns that parachute in at the last minute and vanish after Election Day, MVP invests in community organizers who work year-round. Research shows that trusted local messengers move voters more reliably than ads, cold calls, or mailers. In 2020, MVP partners helped beat Trump by just 43,000 votes across Arizona, Georgia, and Wisconsin — then delivered the Georgia Senate runoffs. Their partners are organizing right now to block MAGA bills and build toward a Blue Wave in November.
We are actively recruiting people to fundraise for MVP's midterm efforts — and to have fun while doing it. Our goal is to raise at least $100,000 for MVP leading up to this event. Then we'll celebrate our collective efforts with an incredible dance party in Seattle!
